Abstract

“How can I survive in this world?”: for our Tweens (9-12 year olds), there is often a time of immense change inwardly and externally as they start to leave their childhood and realise that they need to stand on their own feet to think & act for themselves.

Understanding life from the perspective of this age group; their inner selves, their interests and talents, autonomy, concept of ‘growing up’, comradery and mentorship within their community, as well as the supports & Rites of Passage preparation that educators, parents and program facilitators can offer them will be discussed in an experiential learning format.
